Booking Terms

Effective date: October 29, 2026

These Booking Terms apply when you schedule an appointment with MacArthur Gastroenterology Inc. (Mac GI) through macarthurgi.com, including our Fast Scan liver screening and Weight Management pages. By booking online, you agree to these terms. If you have questions, call our office at (510) 562-7467 before you book.

1. Where your appointment takes place

All appointments are in person at our office:

2. Liver scan appointments

Cash pay

The cash pay price for a liver scan is $125 for one appointment for one person. The full amount is paid online when you book. There is no subscription and no added booking fee. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.

Using insurance

If you plan to use insurance, choose Liver Scan (Insurance) when you book. There is no online payment for this option. Our office will call you to verify your coverage before your visit.

  • Your insurance appointment is confirmed only after our staff contacts you.
  • Coverage depends on your plan. We cannot guarantee that your plan will cover the scan.
  • You are responsible for any amount your plan does not cover, such as a copay, coinsurance or deductible. Our staff will review this with you.
  • Please do not enter insurance details, policy numbers or card images on this website. Bring your insurance card to your visit.

3. Weight Management appointments

Online booking for the Weight Management Program pays for your first visit only. Our staff schedules follow-up visits with you at that appointment. The program price is $399 per visit unless you have a valid coupon code.*

*Based on new start price. Increase in cost may occur based on prescription dosage.

Insurance is not accepted for the Weight Management Program. Any medication that is part of your program is given in our clinic and is not shipped.

4. Payment

  • Online payments are processed by a secure third-party payment processor. Mac GI does not store your full card number on this website.
  • All prices are in U.S. dollars.
  • Coupon codes must be entered when you book. Referral credits are applied by our staff at the office.

5. Confirmation and reminders

After you book, you will receive a confirmation by email. Please enter an email address and phone number you check, so we can reach you about your appointment. If you do not receive a confirmation, call our office.

6. Preparing for your visit

Some appointments, including liver scans, may require preparation such as fasting. Confirm your preparation instructions with our office before your visit. Do not stop or change prescribed medicines unless your treating clinician tells you to.

If you could not follow your preparation instructions, call us before your appointment. Our staff will tell you whether your visit can go ahead or should be rescheduled.

Please bring a photo ID, a current medication list and your insurance card if you are using insurance.

7. Arriving for your appointment

Please arrive at the time shown in your confirmation. If you are running late, call us. If you arrive too late to complete your visit, we may need to reschedule you.

8. Rescheduling and cancellations

To reschedule or cancel, call our office at (510) 562-7467. Please give us at least 24 hours notice so we can offer the time to another patient.

  • 24 hours or more before your appointment: you may reschedule at no charge, or cancel and receive a full refund of your online payment to the original payment method.
  • Less than 24 hours before, or a missed appointment: call us. We will work with you to find a new time. Refunds for late cancellations and missed appointments are reviewed by our office.
  • If we need to cancel or change your appointment: we will contact you to reschedule, or give you a full refund of your online payment if you prefer.

Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer.

9. Screening and medical care

A liver scan is a screening test. It is not a diagnosis by itself. Your results are reviewed by Dr. Ralph L. Peterson and our care team, who will discuss next steps with you. Your physician may recommend further tests.

This website and online booking are not for emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

10. Your information

We collect only the information needed to schedule your appointment, such as your name, email and phone number. Please do not send medical records or insurance details through this website. Learn how we protect your information in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Booking Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page applies to appointments booked after the effective date shown above.
